Setting Your Store Currency
The plugin uses your WooCommerce store currency automatically. To change your currency:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → General
- Find the Currency dropdown
- Select your desired currency
- Save changes
Multi-Currency Plugins
If you use a multi-currency plugin to display prices in different currencies, the payment will be processed in the currency selected by the customer at checkout.
Popular multi-currency plugins compatible with WooCommerce include:
- WPML WooCommerce Multilingual
- Currency Switcher for WooCommerce
- Aelia Currency Switcher
Ensure that any currency offered to customers is also enabled on your PowerTranz merchant account.
Currency Formatting
The plugin sends the transaction amount to PowerTranz in the minor unit of the currency (e.g., cents for USD). This is handled automatically – no configuration is required.
Important Notes
- Your merchant account must be configured to accept the currency you want to use
- Exchange rates and currency conversion are handled by your acquirer, not the plugin
- Settlement currency may differ from transaction currency depending on your merchant agreement
